Bayshore Beautiful

Overview

Bayshore Boulevard’s linear waterfront park was conceived and created between 1891 and 1893. Originally, a trolley car system ran the length of Bayshore until trolley service ended in 1946.

For those looking to live a luxury lifestyle in an area rich in culture and history, Bayshore Beautiful is the perfect neighborhood. It is a well-known Tampa neighborhood offering a panoramic waterfront view and elegant tree-lined streets. The sidewalk lining the bay is 10 ft wide, 4.5 miles long, and reputably the longest unbroken sidewalk in the world. It provides the ideal venue for sunset walks, morning jogs or weekend rollerskating.

East of Bayshore Beautiful is the expansive Bayshore Boulevard with a far-reaching view of some of the most beautiful homes in Florida. Every year in January, Tampa hosts its Gasparilla Pirate Festival. Several events, including the Gasparilla Parade take place on the boulevard, giving Bayshore residents an intimate view of all festivities.

Shopping and Dining

Residents who don't feel like wandering too far from home for a bite to eat will find plenty of choices within the neighborhood. A section of Macdill Avenue located between Bayview Avenue and Wallcraft Avenue boasts a small district of cafes, shops and bars.Although this area is part of Bayshore Beutiful, it is often considered an extension of the Palma Ceia Design District.

Some of the restaurants in these two areas include Ciro's Speakeasy and Supper Club, Byblos, Yoko's, Datz Deli, Roux and Pane Rustica.

There are plenty of shops in the area as well. Residents can choose to shop at locally owned stores such as Cheese Please, The Potting Shed, or more recognizable stores such as Macy's, Publix or Target. There are a number of close shopping centers that residents should be sure to check out, including WestShore Plaza and Hyde Park Village.

The Bayshore Beautiful area is known for it's diversity in events and activities, providing a vast array of choices for everyone to enjoy.

Parks and Recreation

Bayshore Beautiful is the perfect location for anyone with an appreciation for the outdoors. Residents are within minutes from the ocean, which means that they can easily go swimming, boating, or fishing.

There are also a number of parks in and around the Bayshore Beautiful area, such as Macfarlane Park, John S Taylor Park, Lithia Springs Park, and more. Many of these parks provide walking or hiking trails, picnic areas that are complete with shelters, grills, picnic tables and bathrooms, children's playgrounds, and more. There's also a YMCA located in Bayshore Beautiful that provides a huge number of activities for children, adults, and senior citizens, including after school activities, aquatic lessons, sports leagues, and more. Members of the YMCA can also use their facilities on their own time whether it's to swim laps, use their exercise equipment, or shoot hoops on their basketball courts. Families are often found having outdoor fun at the Ballast Point Park in South Tampa. The park also offers fishing off their wharf, splash parks for the young ones, and an astonishing spectacle of the Davis Island and the downtown skyline.

Schools, Health & Transportation

Bayshore Beautiful real estate falls into the well-regarded Hillsborough County School District. There are six total schools that are located in Bayshore Beautiful. They include Ballast Point Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School, Coleman Middle School, Madison Middle School, Plant Senior High School and Robinson Senior High School. There are several hospitals where residents of Bayshore Beautiful can seek medical assistance. This includes Kindred Hospital, which is located in Bayshore Beautiful. Other hospitals located within a short drive of the neighborhood include Memorial Hospital of Tampa and Urgicare Tampa. There are also a number of smaller practices for eye, dental, and general care throughout the area. Tampa International Airport provides air travel to and from the area. HART, or Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority, provides Tampa with trolleys, buses, and van pools.
